    COMPASS

    COMPASS is an online application for Pennsylvanians to apply for health and human services programs. The application includes Health Care benefits such as Medical Assistance, CHIP, and Medicaid for Former Foster Care Youth. The application also includes Home and Community Based Services Referrals such as Early Intervention Services, Intellectual Disability Services, and Autism Services. Additionally, COMPASS includes Home and Community Based Living Services, Cash Assistance, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), SNAP (food stamps), and other benefits.

    CMP is a government office overseeing a range of programming for low-income, transitioning, and in need persons. Services include applications for Medicaid, medical assistance, nursing home facilities, and more. The required application can be done online or in person - the application is used to help filter results to fit the individual.

    PA Law Project

    The PA Health Law Project works to ensure everyone has access to health care. Outside of advocating for the right to health care, the Law Project provides free legal services to any low-income resident of Pennsylvania having difficulty accessing publicly funded health care, whose health care has been terminated or reduced, or who have been denied Medicare (or similar health care programming). Additionally, the Law Project helps eligible residents apply for Medicare, responds to issues of denial of service (i.e. for prescriptions), and anyone struggling with their health care costs. The only requirement is income related, otherwise, the program is nondiscriminatory - there is a helpline which can be utilized for base information by anyone, regardless of income. Services range from general career advice to specific programming for targeted groups of individuals - such programs include Parole and Probation programming, Minor Offence Programming, Domestic Violence Programming, Sexual Offence Programming, etc. Additionally, job placements are available through various apprenticeship workshops. Career Link does not discriminate, instead, programs are offered to all interested applicants who are seeking meaningful employment, and who are willing to work to achieve results.

    Prince of Peace Centre

    The Prince of Peace Centre aims at to support individuals and families who by providing food and clothing resources, as well as other support services. The Centre has two food-related resources available. First, the soup kitchen provides hot meals free to the public (volunteer positions for food serving are also available). The Soup Kitchen operates on Monday and Wednesday from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Second, "Food Day" is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. During Food Day individuals who register with the food program receive a free food bag from the food pantry. Food Days hours generally run from 9:30am-12:00pm and from 4:00pm-6:00pm, but you can schedule your appointment in advance by calling. Prince of Peace runs a Mission Thrift Store which sells clothing of all forms at a low cost. Additionally, on the 3rd Thursday of the month, there is a "$2.00 bag day" which allows customers to fill a bag with as much as they desire and pay only $2.00 (see the website for bag restrictions). The last day of every month is $1.00 jeans day. Finally, on each Wednesday (weather permitting) there is a "Free Table" located outside the store. The advocacy project is divided into two programs, H.O.PE. and the F.A.I.T.H. initiative. H.O.P.E. helps participates gain valuable life skills and to enhance their ability to be self-sufficient. Monthly support groups and individual meetings are a part of the program. Generally the program is restricted to individuals with permanent housing but there are exceptions. F.A.I.T.H. This program's aim is to reconnect fathers with their children and their significant others by teaching family skills, behavioral skills, and the importance of love.

    Services are not offered to anyone listed as a sex offender, all other individuals in transition are required to undergo the general application process. Applicants must meet income requirements and obtain proof of income for the application.

    This program works to provide affordable and safe housing for members of the community, both new and returning. All individuals seeking housing services are required to submit an application which can be found on the Housing Authorities website. The application is used to ensure that resources are being directed towards those in the most need. All approved applicants will receive a voucher which places them on the waitlist if there isn't currently a home available. Preference is given to those of low income.
