The Adams County Office for Aging is a private non-profit agency dedicated to providing assistance to and advocacy for people age 60 and above within Adams County. Our mission is to assist people in maintaining independence and dignity within their own homes and communities. We offer a variety of services to support our age 60 and over population including; adult day care, senior centers, Lifeline systems, medical equipment loan, volunteer opportunities, tax preparation assistance, Medicare counseling, transportation, property tax and rent rebate assistance, protective services, legal services, and a variety of health and educational programs. For in-home care, individual can self-refer or a medical professional can refer as well. As for the other services, interested person should just call ahead and let them know they are coming.

Accelerated Support Services for Older Adults is located in the Hill House Senior Services Center, and provides case management and support services for formerly incarcerated individuals that 60 years and older. The program offers assistance obtaining housing, food, and clothing, job readiness, counseling, and in-home services, and support at hearings.

APPRISE, Pennsylvania's State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), provides free expert Medicare counseling to individuals 65 and older. APPRISE was created by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to advise Pennsylvania residents about the available health insurance benefits so that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare options. APPRISE provides personalized counseling (over the phone, via email, or in person) to participants in order identify their healthcare needs and preferences, and obtain Medicare and supplemental coverage that suits their lifestyle and budget. APPRISE is housed at Wesley Family Services.

The Hill House offers a wide range of programs and services to help meet the needs of the community. Accelerated Support Services for Older Adults - A program providing supportive services to persons 60 years and older that have been released from jail or prison and need assistance obtaining housing, food, and clothing. First Source Center - Provides comprehensive workforce development services to citizens that lead to meaningful employment and positively impact the economic health of the community. Home-Delivered Meals - A nutrition program that provides daily meals to homebound older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves due to physical or medical reasons. EARN - To assist individuals presently receiving assistance from the Department of Public Welfare to secure and maintain gainful employment. Senior Community Services Center - The senior center provides a place for for seniors to come together within their community and socialize with friends and family. The center also provides resources that address vital concerns for seniors wishing to live independently.

North Hills Community Outreach provides services to low-income individuals and families in Western Pennsylvania under four core values: recognizing the love of God for everyone, treating all individuals with dignity, fostering self-sufficiency, and managing resources in a responsible manner. Services include food services, utilities and emergencies services, employment services, emergency funding help, family development, senior services, school supplies and appliance sharing, computer training, transportation and car-owning, legal, college or post-secondary education, support groups a range of issues, and links to outside resources. Options/Care Management, a program offered by the Family Services of Western Pennsylvania, is for individuals 60 years and older who need assistance remaining independent and living in their own homes. Care managers provide services based on a personalized assessment of the participant's psycho-social, environmental, and financial needs. Participants are eligible to receive home-delivered meals, resource counseling and support, monthly visits from a care manager, and more. Participants' families may also receive training and support through the Family Caregiver Support Program.

Wesley Family Services provides services including licensed mental health and substance abuse programs, volunteer-based supports for older adults, residential services for persons with developmental and mental health disabilities, services for family members of incarcerated people, financial counseling, vocational and psychosocial rehabilitation, student assistance programs, and transitional youth programs. Programs and services are administered at different offices, so please search online to find the right service and office location.

The Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging offers programs and services for older adults residing in Armstrong County. The AAA connects individuals to seniors centers, housing, home delivered meals, legal assistance, in-home services, adult day care services, medical insurance counseling, transportation services, employment training and placement services, and more.

Laurel Legal Services provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families. Laurel Legal Services provides housing and utility assistance, employment assistance, and assistance with accessing government benefits, and community education on legal issues. The Beaver County Office on Aging is committed to identifying the diverse needs of our aging population, providing quality services, preserving the dignity of the individual and advocating for the older person's rights. Programs and services available are the Apprise Program, health and insurance coverage counseling; senior garden plots; in-home services; care management services; adult day cares; senior centers; transportation assistance; home delivered meals; healthy living classes; etc. There are several senior centers throughout Beaver County that offer fitness classes, field trips, recreational games, fellowship, educational activities and hot, nutritious meals for those 60 years and older. The Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging provides services for older adults residing in Huntingdon, Bedford, and Fulton counties. The AAA provides assistance with accessing health insurance, rent and property tax rebates, meals, transportation (Shared Ride Program transportation and reduced fares), in-home services, home support, senior centers, and more. Please note that the AAA has offices in all three counties.

The Berks County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) provides services to older adults in Berks County. The Berks County AAA connects older adults with home delivered meals, adult daily living centers, senior community centers, transportation services, public health insurance, assistance for older adults who are raising minors, in-home supportive services (including home health services), health and wellness programs, and more.

Blair Senior Services is a non-profit corporation that aims to meet the needs of older adults in Blair County. This includes: case management, transportation, daily meals, educational and recreational activities at four different senior centers, abuse and abandonment protective services, and legal advocacy (Power of Attorney and guardianship services, wills and, long-term care complaints).

The B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a non-profit agency that serves as a resource for all seniors and their families in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania. Our goal is to provide information and connections to services to help people remain an independent as possible, for as long as possible.

BeST TRANSIT operates a Door-to-Door transportation program for Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga counties. There are general public fixed routes and door-to-door shared routes. “Shared Ride” means that the service is open to the public but is not a taxi service. The Shared Ride service will pick you up at your door and transport you to your destination. Since the service is “Shared Ride”, there may be other persons on the vehicle besides you or the driver may need to pick up other passengers prior to dropping you off at your destination. Door-to-door shared rides are open to seniors, people with disabilities, and people with a Medical Assistance (MA) Card. General public has to pay a fee each way. The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Every program we offer is rooted in our passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. Among their services, Sayre Salvation Army offers rental assistance; food and clothing; senior services; and faith-based programs. The Family Services Association of Bucks County offers Benefits Navigation for Older Adults, free face-to-face assistance with applying for public benefits to improve financial stability. The program helps low-income older adults apply for: SNAP (food stamps); LIHEAP (heating assistance); PACE/PACENet (help lower prescription costs); Extra Help/LIS (also helps lower prescription costs); Medical Savings Benefit (state pay your Medicare Part B premium); Medical Assistance (provide comprehensive, low-cost health care); Property Tax/Rent Rebate (receive a refund of taxes or rent paid in the prior year). Services are free of charge to low-income older adults living in independent housing in Bucks County. To access services, call the Family Services Association of Bucks County to do a preliminary evaluation of benefits eligibility by phone and then can schedule an appointment to meet at the individual's home or nearby location.

The Butler County Area Agency on Aging provides services to Butler County residents. Services include home-delivered meals, counseling, health insurance counseling, legal assistance, meals, activities, and educational programs through senior centers, health programs, and transportation through Butler Area Rural Transit (BART).

The mission of the Cambria County Area Agency on Aging is to enhance the quality of life of older citizens of Cambria County by promoting their well-being, dignity, independence and safety through compassionate sponsorship of social service programs for aging adults. The Area Agency on Aging provides the following programs: Adult Day Care, Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), Assessments, Care Management, Congregate Meals, Domiciliary Care, Family Caregiver Support Program, Foster Grandparents Program, Guardianship, Health Insurance Counseling, Home Delivered Meals, Home Security Program, Home Support, Information & Assistance, Nursing Home Transition, OBRA, Ombudsman, Protective Services, Personal Assistance Services, Personal Care, Senior Activities Centers, Transportation, Waiver.

OHS assists older adults with accessing public health insurance counseling, in-home personal care services, nursing home transition services, counseling, transportation, in-home nursing services, senior centers, and more.

The Carbon County Area Agency on Aging helps individuals who are 60+ remain active in their communities by providing case management, transportation, volunteer opportunities, legal assistance, public benefit counseling, assistance with public benefit applications, access to senior centers and recreational activities, and in-home services.

The Centre County Office of Aging provides services for seniors at six locations throughout the county. The services include: health insurance counseling for Medicare recipients, home delivered meals, investigations of abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment of older adults, long-term care services, nursing home transition services, and casework services. The Office also provides funding to outside organizations for personal care services, transportation, adult day services, and legal assistance for those who qualify.

Chester County Aging Services offers home and community based protection, advocacy, and information and assistance services to people aged 60 and over and their families.

Clarion Area Agency on Aging offers a wide range of programs and cooperates with many community agencies to provide a comprehensive network of services. The Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program provides eligible participants with $20 worth of vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at farmer’s markets. Additional programs include individual case management; transportation; prime time health classes; community education; home cooked meals; legal assistance; and in-home supportive care and services. The Agency has four Senior Centers located throughout Clarion County. The centers offer lunch, and a variety of recreational, social and educational opportunities. Participants enjoy programs, trips and entertainment along with varied evening activities. The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging provides services for older adults in Clearfield County. The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging connects older adults with senior centers, health insurance, home-delivered meals, educational programs through the Lifelong Learning Institute, information and referrals to external services, in-home care services, caregiver support, and more.

The Lycoming-Clinton Counties for Community Action (STEP) Office of Aging provides assistance to older adults in Lycoming and Clinton Counties. STEP assists older adults with accessing home-delivered meals, senior centers, transportation services, health screenings and education, in-home services, health insurance counseling, legal services, case management services, assistance with transferring to or from a personal care facility, and more. Please note that there is a STEP office in both Lycoming and Clinton counties.

The Columbia-Montour Aging Office serves older adults in Columbia and Montour Counties. The Columbia-Montour Aging Office provides care-managed services, home health services, nursing home transition services, in-home services, adult day care services, access to senior centers, meals, health insurance counseling, legal assistance, free transportation services, and more. Please note that an individual may have to travel to Columbia County to receive certain services.

Active Aging, Inc. offers numerous services to individuals age 60 and above. They have six senior centers which provide meals, transportation, educational programs and wellness activities. They also have in-home services which provide personalized assessments, case management, home delivered meals and more. There are also counselors who provides public health insurance counseling.

Cumberland Aging and Community Services helps to connect older adults in Cumberland County with transportation services, senior centers, home-delivered meals, adult day service centers, health insurance counseling, caregiver support, and more.

The Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging provides various services for older adults. The Dauphin County AAA helps connect older adults with adult care programs, free civil legal services, transportation services, health classes (including healthy cooking, disease prevention, etc.), meal delivery services, senior centers, and health insurance counseling.

This resource provides private duty home care and home support services. All services are overseen by registered nurses. They can offer home support services and help with personal care, such as bathing, dressing and meal preparation, medication management, pet care, running errands, light housekeeping, and accompaniment services. Most insurance carriers including Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance plans will cover home healthcare that is deemed medically necessary.

The Office of Human Services (OHS) provides a wide range of services to older adults in Cameron, Elk, and McKean Counties. OHS assists older adults with accessing public health insurance counseling, in-home personal care services, nursing home transition services, counseling, transportation, in-home nursing services, senior centers, and more.

By showing a Senior Identification card, anyone in Erie County can ride any EMTA bus for free. An application can be mailed or filled out at any of the EMTA officers. To receive the ID card, proof of age is required, which can be satisfied by the following documents: valid driver's license; birth certificate; armed forces discharge or separation papers; passport or naturalization papers; PACE card' statement of age verification by the Social Security Office; baptismal certificate; PennDot non-drivers license; veteran's universal access card; and resident alien card. The application can also be found on EMTA's website.

The John F. Kennedy Senior Center provides community-based support for older individuals to live independently in their own home. Anyone 60 and over and their spouse (regardless of age) is eligible. Activities at the Senior Center include: cards, computers, walking club, volunteer opportunities, holiday parties, bingo, board games, fitness classes, health screens, day trips, bible study, and guest speakers. Home cooked lunch is prepared on site and served at 11:30AM Monday through Friday.

Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation (FACT) works to provide all Fayette County residents with quality public transportation services, regardless of age, income, or mobility requirements. Any Fayette County resident may use Shared Ride and all clients must pre-register for the service before requesting a trip. The fare depends on the purpose of the trip and if any of the various sources fund it. Clients may be eligible for one or more funding programs. Individuals aged 65 and older may use Shared Ride trips for a medical appointment, banking, grocery shopping, employment, post office, senior center, adult day care center, pharmacy, and visiting for immediate family members (spouse or children). Medical Assistance Transportation provides transportation for treatment, medical evaluation, or to purchase prescription drugs or medical equipment that is compensated by medical assistance.

The Fayette County Community Action Agency connects individuals to resources and services located in Fayette County. Services include education, energy, housing, emergency assistance, employment and training, empowerment and leadership development, family supports, food and nutrition, recreation, health, and community development services.

Experience Inc. (Area Agency on Aging of Warren and Forest Counties) assists older adults with accessing a wide range of programs and services. Experience Inc. facilitates access to meal delivery services, personal care and home support, housing assistance, case management services, senior centers, transportation, educational classes, counseling and support groups, social activities, and more. Services are offered at multiple locations.

The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging connects older adults in Franklin County with health insurance, home-delivered meals, senior centers, in-home care services, adult day care services, mental health services, legal services, personal care, nursing home transition assistance, and more.

The Franklin County Housing Authority provides Section 8 and public housing programs, Section 8 rental assistance plans, the Fresh Express food bank program, and the Elder Share Program. Registration forms can be picked up at the Chambersburg and Waynesboro main offices.

The Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC) is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation which owns and operates a 21-bed critical access hospital and 67-bed nursing home facility. FCMC provides a range of medical services from cardiology to respiratory to rehabilitative to long term care and many other specialized health care services. FCMC runs a Community Health and Wellness Center that provides free health screenings and fitness classes. The Center is located at 374 Lincoln Way West, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.

The Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging provides services for older adults residing in Huntingdon, Bedford, and Fulton counties. The AAA provides assistance with accessing health insurance, rent and property tax rebates, meals, transportation (Shared Ride Program transportation and reduced fares), in-home services, home support, senior centers, and more. Blueprints (formerly called Community Action Southwest) provides a variety of services to low-income individuals. Blueprints offers adult-education classes, GED classes, support for individuals interested in post-secondary education, senior services, services for parents, computer classes, financial literacy resources, job development services, housing assistance, and more. Blueprints offers services at multiple locations.

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging aims to promote the well-being of older adults in Greene, Washington, and Fayette Counties through a wide range of programs and services. The agency assists older adults with accessing transportation, senior centers, care management, health and wellness programs, adult day care, free legal services (including assistance with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security benefits, public health insurance), and more. Huntingdon-Bedford-Fulton Area Agency on Aging is a public agency under the jurisdiction of the Counties of Huntingdon, Bedford & Fulton. The agency is dedicated to serving the elderly of Huntingdon, Bedford, and Fulton Counties and provides a variety of in-home services; specialized services; transportation services; PACE and PACENET Programs; Property Tax and Rent Rebate; and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Among its principle ministry services, the Huntingdon Worship & Service Center offers rental assistance, food boxes, volunteer opportunities, and case management services that can meet the individual needs of the client.

Aging Services Inc. provides a variety of services and programs to older adults in Indiana County. Aging Services assists older adults with accessing transportation, meals, home support, life skills education at adult day care centers, in-home medical services, placement services, public health insurance counseling, and more. Aging Services Inc. uses a cost-sharing system and costs vary based on the desired services and an individual's income. (Therefore, certain services are free for eligible individuals.)

The Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging provides a variety of services to older adults in Juniata and Mifflin Counties. The Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging connects older adults with home-delivered meals, in-home care, nursing home transition services, senior centers, care management, transportation services, health insurance counseling, and more. Please note that the main office is located in Mifflin County.

The Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging provides services to older adults in Lackawanna County. The Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging assists older adults with accessing senior community centers (which offer computer classes and social activities), adult daily living centers, in-home care services, health insurance, home-delivered meals, transportation services, and more.

United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC) provides a variety of services and programs to low-income community members. UNC provides one-on-one health care coordination, older adult community centers, child care centers, housing assistance and emergency utility services, adult education, one-on-one tutoring, computer labs, food and clothing pantries, and opportunities to volunteer. The Lancaster County Office of Aging provides services to older adults in Lancaster County. The Office of Aging connects older adults with transportation, home-delivered meals, health insurance counseling, senior centers, in-home care services, placement services, counseling, and more.

The Spanish American Civic Association (SACA) offers extensive drug and alcohol services (both inpatient and outpatient), counseling services, HIV/AIDS services. At the Tec Centro, individuals are provided with services to remove any barriers that may inhibit career advancement by offering adults education completion, job readiness workshops, employment services, case management, bilingual training, and multiple career pathways. Among these career pathways are: CNA medical receptionist, medical billing, dental assisting, business and hospitality, construction, manufacturing, and general office (clerical). SACA also has a senior center which offers meals, various activities, and case management services (including housing placement and medical management) to individuals over 60. Please note that services are offered in multiple locations.

Catholic Charities' Lawrence County Outreach offers services and programs to Lawrence County residents. Lawrence County Outreach provides assistance with obtaining utility assistance and meeting other emergency needs, counseling, senior services, and referrals to social service providers when appropriate.

Challenges Center is an innovative community facility offering a wide variety of educational, recreational and health-related activities to help support the independence of adults ages 50+ who live in Lawrence County. While many of the Center's offerings are free, others require membership and/or separate fees.

Lawrence County Community Action Partnership is made up of three agencies that seek to involve the community in assessing local needs and attacking the causes and conditions of poverty. They are: Lawrence County Social Services, Inc., United Community Services of Lawrence County, Inc., and Allied Coordinated Transportation Services, Inc. Lawrence County Community Action Partnership reaches out to low-income people to address their multiple needs through a comprehensive approach, develops partnerships with other community organizations, involves clients in agency's operations, and administers a full range of coordinated programs designed to have a measurable impact on poverty. Among its many services, Lawrence County Community Action Partnership provides support in the following areas: Education; employment; emergency and community services; individual and family services; housing rehabilitation; senior services; transportation; and youth programs.

The mission of the Lebanon County Area Agency on Aging is to develop, coordinate and promote a continuum of services that values and supports older adults as they age; empowers them to maintain independence, dignity and respect; and enhances their overall well-being and quality of life.

Lehigh County Office Of Aging and Adult Services provides a variety of services to older adults in Lehigh County. The Office of Aging and Adult Services connects individuals to home delivered meals, assessment and care management, nursing home transition, case management services, senior centers (which provide meals, social activities, computer classes, and more), housing services, adult day centers, public health insurance counseling, personal care services, transportation services, and more.

The Area Agency on Aging provides services and programs to older adults in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. The AAA offers employment training and placement, nursing services, active adult center activities (including financial literacy and wellness groups, meals, and social activities), transportation services, caregiver support, volunteer opportunities, health insurance counseling, and more. Please note that these services are offered in multiple locations throughout Luzerne and Wyoming Counties.

The Lycoming-Clinton Counties for Community Action (STEP) Office of Aging provides assistance to older adults in Lycoming and Clinton Counties. MCCT offers a door-to-door shuttle service for all residents of Mercer County. Fares vary according to the length of trip, and exact cash payment is required. All trips must be scheduled by 2:00 pm the day before your requested trip. Note, senior citizens over the age of 65, individuals with a registered disability and most residents qualifying for medical assistance within Pennsylvania receive free or discounted trips.

The Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging Inc. (MJAAA) will foster, promote and provide for the development of a comprehensive coordinated service system for persons over the age of 60, within the Counties of Mifflin and Juniata, that enable aging with independence, dignity and respect.

The Monroe County Area Agency on Aging assists older adults in Monroe County with accessing senior centers, home-delivered meals, protective services, personal care services, care management, health insurance counseling, and transportation.

The Montgomery County Office of Aging and Adult Services (AAS) provides services to older adults in Montgomery County. Montgomery County AAS assists older adults with accessing in-home care, nursing homes, classes at Montgomery County Community College, public health insurance, senior centers, care management services, home delivered meals, transportation services, in-home behavioral health services, and more. Please note that services are offered at multiple locations in Montgomery County.

The Columbia-Montour Aging Office serves older adults in Columbia and Montour Counties. The Columbia-Montour Aging Office provides care-managed services, home health services, nursing home transition services, in-home services, adult day care services, access to senior centers, meals, health insurance counseling, legal assistance, free transportation services, and more. Please note that an individual may have to travel to Columbia County to receive certain services.

The Hispanic Center of Lehigh Valley aims to "improve the lives of Hispanic and other families." The Community Empowerment Program (CEP) for Adults assists individuals with obtaining employment and other services. There is a senior center for adults over 60 years old (which provides meals, the monitoring of chronic diseases, educational workshops, and recreational activities). In addition, the Hispanic Center provides groceries to anyone who resides in the 18014 zip code once per month; proof of residence (for instance, utility bill, lease, or public assistance documents, SSI documentation) is required. There is also a WIC program.

The Northampton Area Agency on Aging connects older adults in Northampton County with a wide range of services. The agency assists older adults with accessing health insurance, adult day care services, transportation, home-delivered meals, nursing home transition services, personal care services, senior centers, in-home care services, emergency energy assistance, income tax assistance, free legal services, and referrals to other services.

The VNA Health System provides home hospice care, recuperative care services following surgery or illness (wound care, diabetes care and management, medication management, IV therapy, medical social services, and more), private duty care for those who need home care assistance, adult day care, assistance transitioning from the hospital to the home, and flu clinics.This resource has offices in Harrisburg, Lewisburg, Lewistown, Lock Haven, Shamokin, and State College.

Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) are local aging programs that provide information and services on a range of assistance for older adults and those who care for them. By contacting your local agency you get access to critical information including: Available services in your area; Mobility assistance programs; Meal Delivery; Housing; Assistance in gaining access to services; Individual counseling, support groups and caregiver training; Respite care; and many other supplemental services, on a limited basis.

ACT Home Health Services provides private duty nursing, skilled nursing visits, and home health aid services, depending on the level of care an individual needs. This organization does not have an age requirement to access resources and accepts payments from Medicare and Mediaid, as well as various insurance companies.

BenePhilly offers free one-on-one support to help Philadelphians enroll in benefits. At the BenePhilly Centers, applicants learn about the benefits available to them, as well as critical supports available through community-based organizations. All BenePhilly Centers also provide benefits screenings and referrals for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Unemployment Insurance (UI). CARIE's goal is to improve the well-being and rights of the elderly through advocacy. CARIE does not provide direct services (such as home care), but rather advocates for the elderly to ensure they can receive services.

Provides behavioral health and wellness services to individuals of all ages, denominations, and orientations. Programs include outpatient, residential, and day services for behavioral health, as well as services specifically for LGBTQI individuals, individuals with HIV/AIDS, and the Latino community.

Community Legal Services (CLS) provides free civil legal assistance to low-income Philadelphians. CLS attorneys and other staff provide a full range of legal services, as well as community education and social work. CLS also assists individuals with obtaining identification documents. Congreso de Latinos Unidos is a nonprofit working to strengthen Latino communities through social, economic, education and health services, leadership development and advocacy. Congreso provides resources that address education and workforce needs, family and housing services, and health promotion and wellness services. Episcopal Community Services works to challenge and reduce intergenerational poverty. Programs include: an emergency shelter, permanent housing, meals at WinterShelter, an employment center, paid work experience, health screenings & education, community meals, and companionship for the elderly.

Friends Rehabilitation Program specializes in managing affordable housing for the elderly, homeless, disabled, and those living with HIV and AIDS. They have 498 units of low-income housing, 332 of which are for seniors, and 166 of which are for adults and families. They also manage housing contracts for returning citizens.

Intercommunity Action, Inc. (Interact) provides a variety of services including: behavioral health, developmental disabilities, senior services, recovery-oriented supports, day treatment programs, and individual and small group residential facilities.

Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is committed to serving children, adults, and families in Philadelphia. Programs and services include: Bilingual Domestic Violence Program (BDVP), Community Education and Employment Department (CEED), Homeless Services (Jane Addams Place), Senior Services (Senior Center), Medical Advocacy, and Caregivers Reducing Stress (CARES). Lutheran Settlement House also provides adults with literacy, basic education, GED preparation, computer class instruction, and career-readiness training.

Experience, Inc. offers a range of in-home and community-based services to help seniors to have a good quality of life and to remain independent as long as possible. Our professional staff is trained to recognize areas of concern and need and to provide appropriate services and referrals for assistance. Experience, Inc. sponsors Warren and Forest Senior Community Centers. Senior Centers offer a variety of programs and services to help senior citizens maintain their independence, vitality, and provide a place for seniors to have the opportunity to meet other seniors through social interaction. Programs include activities, educational classes, counseling and support groups, volunteer opportunities, and wellness programs. Warren and Forest County Senior Centers also offer meals, help with financial and medical paperwork, transportation, and other social services.

The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging helps individuals who are 60+ remain active in their communities by providing case management, transportation, volunteer opportunities, legal assistance, public benefit counseling, assistance with public benefit applications, access to senior centers and recreational activities in Honesdale, Hawley, and Hamlin, and in-home services.

Laurel Legal Services provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families. Laurel Legal Services provides housing and utility assistance, employment assistance, and assistance with accessing government benefits, and community education on legal issues. Laurel Legal Services has multiple offices.

The Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging provides services to older adults in Westmoreland County. The Westmoreland County AAA connects older adults with adult day care services, care management services, home health services, home-delivered meals, personal care services, health insurance, free legal services, senior centers (which provide meals, computer classes, social activities, and more), and transportation. Services may be provided at no cost, a sliding fee scale, or subject to some form of cost-sharing.

The Area Agency on Aging provides services and programs to older adults in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. The AAA offers employment training and placement, nursing services, active adult center activities (including financial literacy and wellness groups, meals, and social activities), transportation services, caregiver support, volunteer opportunities, health insurance counseling, and more. ForSight Vision Center provides specialized services designed to prevent, prepare for, and manage loss of vision while building awareness in our community. They also have services that address specific needs for those who are blind or vision impaired, such as support groups as well as social and educational services. ForSight recently merged with VisionCorps in order to expand their services.

JFS provides many services for older adults and their families. They offer court-appointed guardianship services to assist in healthcare advocacy or financial decision making. They also have trained volunteers that provide transportation for older adults to attend appointments or get around town.

Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania is one of the leading non-profit organizations in the region, serving nearly 11,000 people each year. They connect individuals with resources relating to senior living, community outreach and community health services.

The York County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) provides education, advocacy and coordination of community-based services to empower older adults to maximize their independence and quality of life. Their services include transportation, long-term care, legal services, and general health information.

The Pre-Application for PHA Senior Citizen Housing is a form that must be completed and returned to the Philadelphia Housing Authority in order to start the process of securing public housing assistance for senior citizens. The application can be submitted at the Admissions office at 712 N. 16th St (16th and Fairmount). Applicants must also select which site interests them. Senior citizens with special needs may request assistive equipment under the Reasonable Accommodations section.
