Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) serves and advocates for the medically underserved living or working in Centre County. CVIM provides medical and dental care, case management and necessary medications at no cost to qualified uninsured and under-insured residents of Centre County and those working in Centre County who live in neighboring counties that do not have free clinics or programs to meet their medical needs. To qualify for care with us: *You must be living or working in Centre County for at least 7 days. *You must NOT have insurance for the services for which you are applying (This includes Adult Basic, Access Card/Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans Benefits). *You must meet income guidelines. The Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program provides eligible participants with $20 worth of vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at farmer’s markets. Additional programs include individual case management; transportation; prime time health classes; community education; home cooked meals; legal assistance; and in-home supportive care and services. Tri-County Community Action

Acceptance in programs is available to those at or below 125% of the federal poverty level. Proof of income must be made with copies of all pay slips, social security payments, child support payments, and any other income source from the thirty day period before application. If an applicant has not made any income in the last thirty days, they can sign a statement saying so.

Tri-County Community Action provides vocational, life skills, and counseling assistance to low-income individuals. A career training program provides vocational training in welding, manufacturing, and other trades, and completion provides a certificate in job readiness. Completion of vocational training will be supplemented by job search assistance with a case manager. Case managers and clients can work together for up to five years or until clients have achieved self-sufficiency. Case managers also lead group life skills classes and employment development workshops (including resume writing, interviewing, and job searches). The Housing & Credit Counseling program provides housing counselors and classes assisting in home buying, credit counseling, financial fitness, and lending basics. Walk-ins are accepted, but calling ahead is preferred. Tri County Community Action has Cumberland County offices in Shippensburg and Enola, and offices in Dauphin and Perry Counties.

The St. Martin Center is a social service organization that assists families and individuals with immediate need and long-term services. Bebashi provides a continuum of care (free of charge) involving culturally sensitive and competent community education, HIV, STI, and pregnancy counseling and testing services, and medical case management (for HIV+ individuals). Potter County Human Services Drug and Alcohol Program

The Potter County Drug and Alcohol Program provides a variety of services, including drug and alcohol assessments; prevention education; assistance in accessing drug and alcohol or mental health counseling; and obtaining or coordinating medical treatment.
